Work Licences
You can apply for a restricted work licence if you have been charged with drink or drug driving. You can’t if your offence is driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Or failing to provide a specimen of breath (at a police station).
The work licence allows you to continue driving for work related purposes during your period of disqualification.
Special Hardship
A SHO is a court order that allows you to continue to drive on your driver licence under stated restrictions. The restrictions may include (but are not limited to)
– restricting the purpose for which drive
– restricting the class of vehicle you drive
– restricting the days/times you drive
When you have never needed a lawyer before, it’s difficult to know who to trust, what to expect and how much to pay. You know that your licence is important – your ability to work depends upon it – and that you need to do everything that you can to keep it or have your disqualification period at a minimum.
